 | Bubble Boy goes to Mars. | | Cash-strapped NASA mission planners have announced the selection of "Bubble Boy" Jimmy Jablonski for their manned Mars mission in 2010.
NASA chief Sean O'Keefe explains:
"Jimmy has his own spacesuit and habitat, all in one. Everything he'll need is already inside the bubble...food ,water, oxygen, a deck of Uno cards...we figure the Bubble Boy will save us about 25 million dollars in individual space suit, habitat development and fabrication costs, plus it will offer a sense of purpose to his otherwise drab and dreary existence."
Jimmy's mom, Shelly, agrees
"This is just what Jimmy needs. He needs to get out of the house. He gets so cranky sometimes. Last week he found a way to give his little brother Stevie a wedgie right through the bubble! I think a trip to Mars just might cheer him up!"
Jimmy agrees
"Yeah! I wanna go to Mars! I'll be a national hero! The Bubble Boy will be a national hero! I can't wait to get outta this Jerkwater burg, germs and all!"
When asked if he was serious, O'Keefe replied:
"Totally serious. We think the Bubble Boy is the ideal choice for financial and humanitarian reason, and consider Project Bubble Boy to be the reasonable selection for a manned mission to Mars. The Bubble Boy is our clear choice.
O'keefe cracked a grin
"Plus, we just like sayin' "Bubble Boy!"
